Futures, foreign currency and options trading contains substantial risk and is not for every investor. An investor could potentially lose all or more than their initial investment. Risk capital is money that can be lost without jeopardizing one's financial security or lifestyle. Only risk capital should be used for trading, and only those with sufficient risk capital should consider trading. Past performance is not necessarily indicative of future results.
Tradefend is independent analytical software. It is not a broker, futures commission merchant, retail foreign-exchange dealer, exchange member, introducing broker or proprietary trading firm. Tradefend does not direct or manage customer accounts and does not provide investment, financial, trading, tax or legal advice. Its outputs are rule-compliance calculations against parameters published by your firm or configured by you — they are not recommendations to buy, sell or hold any instrument, and no output should be understood as an opinion about market direction.
Tradefend connects to your trading accounts with read-only access and never places entry orders. The only orders Tradefend can ever submit are position-closing (flatten) orders and cancellations of working orders, and only if you explicitly enable Breach Guard and configure its thresholds yourself. Tradefend never holds customer funds.
Breach Guard is an optional, user-configured automation that can submit position-closing orders on your behalf when thresholds you set are approached. It is provided on a best-effort, "not held" basis: Tradefend does not and cannot guarantee that any closing order will be submitted, accepted, executed, or executed at any particular time or price. Market gaps, fast markets, illiquidity, platform outages, connectivity failures and firm-side restrictions can delay or prevent execution entirely. Breach Guard reduces the chance of a rule breach; it cannot eliminate it. You remain solely responsible for compliance with your firm's rules at all times.
Some proprietary trading firms restrict automated trade management. You are responsible for confirming that your firm permits it before arming Breach Guard on that account.
Product imagery, demonstrations and example figures on this website use simulated data. Where any simulated or hypothetical performance is shown, the following applies (CFTC Rule 4.41(b)):
Note that most proprietary-firm evaluation and funded accounts are, by the firms' own terms, demo accounts operating in a simulated environment.
Tradefend models rules published by third-party firms. Firms change, reinterpret and selectively enforce their rules; published materials are sometimes ambiguous or contradictory. Tradefend re-verifies rule sets regularly and models the conservative reading where a rule is ambiguous, but your firm's own systems and decisions are always authoritative. A Tradefend "APPROVED" verdict is a calculation, not a guarantee that your firm will reach the same conclusion.
