Tradefend LLC ("Tradefend", "we", "us") operates the Tradefend website, terminal and connectors, and is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.
We use your data to run the terminal: compute rule compliance, render your equity curve, deliver alerts, execute a Breach Guard instruction if you armed one, provide support and bill your subscription.
One more use, and only for prop-firm evaluation and funded accounts: where your trading platform shows the firm's own rule settings on your account (for example its daily loss limit or maximum drawdown), we record those settings, without your name, account number, balance or trades, to check that the rules we show every trader are accurate. We never record them for your own-capital accounts or for firm accounts at a live-capital stage.
We do not sell your data. We do not share your trading data with prop firms, brokers, advertisers or anyone else, except the service providers listed below, which are strictly necessary to operate the Service, or where required by law.
These companies process data on our behalf, only for the purpose shown and under their contracts with us:
The terminal also loads instrument logos from TradingView, which sees your IP address when it does; no account or trading data is sent with these requests. Our typefaces are served from our own servers.
The trading platforms you connect (such as Tradovate/NinjaTrader, TradeLocker, cTrader or your MetaTrader broker) are not our providers: they send us your account data because you told them to, and their own privacy policies apply to what they hold.
Some links to partners, such as NinjaTrader, are affiliate links. If you click one, the partner's referral service records that the visit came from us.
Our providers may process data in the United States and in other countries where they operate.
We send service email (account, billing, sign-in and password, setup and support emails, and notices when a connected account needs you) and optional email: Breach Guard emails, a morning notice when a firm on your profile changes a rule, a weekly rules roundup and product news. You choose the optional ones in My Profile under Settings, Emails, and every rule-change, roundup and product email carries an unsubscribe link for that email. Support and onboarding correspondence may be drafted with the assistance of automated systems and is subject to human oversight.
Cookies are small notes a website keeps in your browser. We use only the ones below, none for advertising or for following you from site to site. The sign-in cookies are essential: without them you could not stay signed in, so they need no choice. The referral cookie is the one you choose: a referral link (a partner's or a friend's, tradefend.com/r/…) shows a small card, and tf_ref is set only if you choose “Keep it”. Choosing “No thanks”, or not answering, sets nothing.
| Cookie | What it does | Kept for | Kind |
|---|---|---|---|
| dr_session | Keeps you signed in to My Profile | 14 days | Essential |
| tf_term | Keeps the terminal signed in; sent only to the terminal's own data address | 30 days from last use | Essential |
| tf_ct | Ties a cTrader connection to the browser that started it | 30 minutes | Essential |
| tf_aff | Keeps a partner signed in to the affiliate desk | 30 days | Essential, partners only |
| tf_crm, tf_crm_step | Keep Tradefend's own team signed in to its back office | 7 days; 5 minutes | Essential, our team only |
| tf_ref | The referral code of whoever sent you, so they are credited if you sign up; it holds nothing else | 30 days | Only if you choose “Keep it” |
To take back a “Keep it”, remove the referral cookie here:
Some choices stay in your own browser and are never sent to us: the free-trial questionnaire's answers (tf_build_v1, so you can pick up where you left off; they reach us only when you submit your name and email), light or dark My Profile (tf_theme), which accounts have shown the rings notice (tf_rings_seen), and the terminal's last account and chart view (dr_acctId, dr_chartRange, dr_chartUnit, dr_calOpen). Clearing your browser's site data removes them.
The website counts visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which sets no cookie, keeps nothing in your browser and does not follow you from site to site. It shows us totals: pages viewed, the site a visit came from, country, browser and device type, and how fast pages load. It is not loaded inside the terminal or your profile. The website carries no advertising technology.
Passwords are stored as salted PBKDF2 hashes; connector keys and platform tokens are encrypted at rest with authenticated encryption, with the decryption key held outside the database — so a copy of the database alone is unreadable; hosted sign-ins are sealed with public-key encryption in your browser and cannot be read by our web server; transport is TLS everywhere; connector access is read-only by architecture — the sole exception is the optional Breach Guard which, only if you arm it, can submit position-closing orders on the connected account. No system is perfectly secure, but we designed Tradefend so the data we hold is the minimum needed to do the job.
Account and trading data are kept for as long as you have an account with us, including while it is paused after a trial or a subscription has ended. Email support@tradefend.com from your account email to request export or deletion; we delete within 30 days, except records we must keep for legal or billing reasons. Copies in our backups are gone within five weeks after.
Support cases. When a message to our support team needs a person, we keep a record of the case: your messages, our replies, our team's notes on it and how it was resolved. We keep a closed case for 12 months, then delete it. We use these records to answer you and to improve our support; the lessons we keep from them to train our support assistant carry no names, email addresses or account details. Deleting your data deletes your support cases too, including the copies in our team's chat.
The Service is not directed at anyone under 18.
Material changes to this policy will be announced by email or in-app before they take effect.

Risk disclosure. Futures, foreign currency and options trading contains substantial risk and is not for every investor. An investor could potentially lose all or more than their initial investment. Risk capital is money that can be lost without jeopardizing one's financial security or lifestyle. Only risk capital should be used for trading, and only those with sufficient risk capital should consider trading. Past performance is not necessarily indicative of future results.
Hypothetical performance disclosure (CFTC Rule 4.41). Hypothetical performance results have many inherent limitations, some of which are described below. No representation is being made that any account will or is likely to achieve profits or losses similar to those shown; in fact, there are frequently sharp differences between hypothetical performance results and the actual results subsequently achieved by any particular trading program. One of the limitations of hypothetical performance results is that they are generally prepared with the benefit of hindsight. In addition, hypothetical trading does not involve financial risk, and no hypothetical trading record can completely account for the impact of financial risk of actual trading. For example, the ability to withstand losses or to adhere to a particular trading program in spite of trading losses are material points which can also adversely affect actual trading results. There are numerous other factors related to the markets in general or to the implementation of any specific trading program which cannot be fully accounted for in the preparation of hypothetical performance results and all which can adversely affect trading results. Product imagery on this site shows simulated data for illustration only.
